Description Join a thriving construction company in Carlsbad as a Staff Accountant, where you'll take charge of managing accounting processes, analyzing data, and ensuring financial accuracy. In this role, you'll handle sophisticated accounting tasks and play a pivotal part in making financial decisions that impact company goals. Key Responsibilities: + Prepare accurate month-end close procedures, including journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments using NetSuite accounting software. + Ensure compliance by managing tax filings, preparing audits, and reconciling accounts in accordance with GAAP standards. + Analyze job costing data, partnering closely with project managers to forecast expenses, identify profit margins, and identify inefficiencies. + Oversee fixed asset management and depreciation schedules. + Create financial reports, including balance sheets, P& L statements, and cash flow management for leadership and stakeholders. + Manage inventory accounting for construction materials and ensure proper expense tracking. + Collaborate with HR and payroll teams, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation of payroll using Paycor systems. Requirements + Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required. CPA or work toward certification is highly preferred. + 3-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in construction or a related industry. + Expertise with NetSuite (required) and Microsoft Excel (Advanced), including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial modeling. + Knowledge of GAAP principles, tax regulations, and construction accounting processes such as job costing. + Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. + Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting findings clearly and effectively across teams.
